About Micro-dose Lupron® (Micro-dose Leuprolide)
Micro-dose Lupron® (Micro-dose Leuprolide) is an injectable medication that contains a low dose of Leuprolide Acetate. It is typically prescribed during IVF treatment to jump start ovarian response to stimulation in “poor responders”, such as women who have responded poorly to stimulation with fertility medications in the past or women who may be at risk of having a poor response (e.g., advanced age). Micro-dose Lupron® is compounded in the pharmacy by taking a full-strength vial of manufactured Lupron® 14 Day Kit and diluting it down to a much lower strength according to your physician’s specifications.
Micro-dose Lupron® comes in a prefilled 10mL vial containing 40mcg/0.2mL of Leuprolide Acetate. Each vial can be used to deliver multiple doses of medication. Micro-dose Lupron® should be injected under the skin (subcutaneous) according to the schedule provided by your doctor.
